About us

The Association for the Rights of Mixed Families (AMF) promotes the rights of 320,000 Non-Jewish repatriates from the FSU in Israel by increasing the public awareness, providing information and support to those in need, and empowering the members of mixed families to be integrated into the mainstream of the Israeli society.

  1. AMF promotes the adoption of new legislation and policy changes aimed to protect the rights of mixed families and eliminate the barriers, which prevent their integration.
  2. AMF provides professional and effective legal consulting, support and follow-up for mixed families whose rights have been violated, in the fields of marriage, divorce, civil status and family reunion, burial and conversion.
  3. AMF organizes advocacy/community education programs for mixed families, directed to help them to cope with the unique identity crises and absorption difficulties mixed families in Israel experience.
  4. AMF works to create a positive public opinion regarding the adoption of just solutions to the problems of mixed families.

AMF is one of the largest and most recognized grassroots NGOs among the Russian-speaking community in Israel. AMF has dozens of activists and assists close to 1,000 mixed families per year. AMF's head office is located in Haifa, with other branches located in Jerusalem, Beer-Sheva, Netanya, Karmiel and Petah Tiqwa.
